Cutler and Gross 1402 Square Sunglasses

The 1402 is a square sunglass, handcrafted in acetate, finished in the deep Obsidian colourway - and it is the only colourway on offer, which tells you the shape and the shade were designed to go together.

Squares are unforgiving. The corners have to be right and the front has to be flat and true, which is why the handcrafted acetate matters more here than it might elsewhere.

Lens width is 50mm. That measurement is the width of a single lens, and 50mm is a moderate, controlled size for a square sunglass - it holds the shape's geometry without spreading toward the temples. It suits small and medium faces particularly well, and it is a good choice if you want the square look without the oversized attitude that often comes with it.
