Cutler and Gross 9690 Square Opticals (Large)

The 9690 in its large fitting is a square optical designed to hold its shape on the face rather than disappear into it.

Its lens width is 53mm: that is the distance across one lens, horizontally. A medium-to-large reading, it works well for average and broader faces, and it gives a square frame the proportions it needs to look intentional rather than accidental.

The single colourway is Black on Crystal, a handcrafted acetate combination in which a black layer is set over a clear one. The result is a frame that looks solid straight on but reveals a lighter, glassy edge in profile.
