Named for the one who stole fire, the Prometheus is a square optical frame from Cutler and Gross's The Great Frog line, cut in acetate.
The four colourways are the reason to spend time with this one. Bordeaux is deep and wine-dark. Vintage Havana is the warm, patterned classic, worn in rather than new. Deep Blue Crystal is translucent and cool, with light travelling through it. Black on Red is the one that shows its second colour only at the edges - the layering gives it away when it catches the light.
The square front holds a straight, level line across the eye in a balanced, everyday proportion. It is a useful shape if your face is rounder, since the angles supply the contrast, and it works comfortably as a full-time frame.
