Matsuda M3158 Eyeglasses

The stained glass lacquer is the reason to buy the M3158. Panels of colour are set into a lightweight titanium frame alongside Japanese acetate inserts, so the front catches light in sections rather than as one flat surface. It is an unusually decorative optical frame that still weighs almost nothing on the face. Made in Japan.

Sizing: 54-18-142 gives you a 54mm lens width, an 18mm bridge and 142mm temples. The wide lens combined with the tighter bridge means the M3158 reads as a large frame and suits medium to broad faces, particularly those with a higher or narrower nose bridge. At 142mm the temples are slightly shorter than average, which helps if standard arms usually overshoot your ear.
